Important Notes

Platform revenue splits can vary based on your contract tier, region, and ad type. Spotify/Anchor fill rates fluctuate between 20–40% depending on your audience geography. YouTube Premium revenue uses a watch-time based pool rather than a fixed CPM split. Always verify current terms directly with each platform.

How the Formula Works

Formula
Creator Net = Gross Ad Revenue × Platform Revenue Share YouTube: Creator Net = Gross × 55% Twitch Partner: Creator Net = Gross × 50% Podcast Network: Creator Net = Gross × 50–70%

Variables

Gross Ad RevenueTotal advertising revenue generated before platform takes its share
Platform Revenue SharePercentage the creator keeps: YouTube 55%, Twitch 50%, podcast networks vary 30–70%
Creator NetWhat actually lands in your bank account after the platform cut

Worked Example

YouTube channel earns $6,000 gross ad revenue. Creator keeps 55% = $3,300. Twitch channel earns $4,000 gross. Partner keeps 50% = $2,000. Podcast network earns $3,000 gross at 60% split = $1,800.

Platform Revenue Splits Compared

YouTube offers the best revenue split at 55% for all partners. Twitch standard is 50% for Partners (Affiliates sometimes get 50% too). Podcast networks range wildly from 30% (low-quality networks) to 70% (premium networks that do all the sales work). Some podcast networks offer 50/50 with guaranteed minimums, which can outperform percentage deals for smaller shows.
